As the Summer at the Center expands, coaches from around the country have
asked to visit the Center to watch our instructors teach students. Over the
course of the last several years, coaches have informally experienced the
Summer at the Center. This summer, we have decided to expand our program to
include the opportunity for coaches to learn from some of the best coaches in
the nation.
Coaches who enroll in the program will have the opportunity to spend a weekend
with some of the most successful coaches in the country. Either as a resident
or a commuter, will learn strategies for developing a successful program,
recruiting new students, managing a team, and learning how to coach particular
events. In addition to learning general coaching techniques, participants will
have the opportunity to watch our veteran instructors in real coaching
situations with students. Participants can choose from lectures, small groups,
or individual work sessions for observation.
Participants will leave with teaching and research materials as well as access
to some of the nation's most successful coaches throughout the season. Learn
how to become part of the National Forensic League and keep updated records on
your students. If completed on time, participants may be able to leave with a
DVD of introductory lectures from our staff that coaches can use to teach
their own students.
Our seminar leaders are well respected members of the forensics community who
represent programs that include successful LD, Policy, Congress, and
Individual Events students.
The following coaches have agreed to participate in the Coaches Seminar:
